Scott Erickson | Meteorologie No.5

Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels is a Tennessee-raised Australian-American based in Brooklyn. Building towards intuitive moments, she makes large-scale installations from discarded housing materials that are submerging environments built into existing architecture. As of 2012, SVBF has begun creating installations by first painting small, fantastical 'blueprint' paintings, abstract and compressed geometric representations of the layers of humans that go into a single individual. Her work is often shown in abandoned or odd locations, like a deserted secret society lodge, a former convent, a crumbling snow machine warehouse; and has also recently been exhibited at Clocktower Gallery, FLA Gallery, Scope, and the Palais de Toyko.
